SEIU NJ State Council Endorses Andrew Zwicker in LD16
Union representing 15,000 service employees gives unanimous support to Zwicker in re-election campaign
Hillsborough, NJ – Today, the Service Employees International Union New Jersey State Council (SEIU) which represents 15,000 service employees across the state announced its support for Senator Andrew Zwicker in the 16th Legislative District.
“Senator Zwicker has been an ally and advocate for labor in the state. He shows up for us and our families every day, and his advocacy has helped advance the interests of working families in his district and across the state,” said SEIU NJ State Council President Megan Chambers, Co-Manager of the Laundry, Distribution, and Food Service (LDFS) Joint Board, Workers United SEIU.
“Our service employees continue to be on the frontlines serving our families every day – whether its taking care of our seniors in nursing homes during the pandemic, the medical residents at hospitals across the state working to save countless lives everyday, motor vehicle inspectors who keep our roads safe, or the school cafeteria workers keeping our children well fed. I am proud to have the support of SEIU NJ State Council to continue fighting to make sure that service employees across New Jersey are able to obtain fair wages, safe working conditions, and keep our communities and our state running,” said Senator Andrew Zwicker (D-South Brunswick).
Since he was first elected to the legislature in 2015, and elected to the State Senate in 2021, Senator Zwicker has been a leader in the fight for the values that SEIU members and working families are organizing for every day – fair wages, staffing requirements at nursing homes, and safe working conditions for all service employees.
Zwicker represents the 16th Legislative District in the New Jersey State Senate and is running for re-election to represent the newly drawn 16th Legislative District which includes Princeton (Mercer County), South Brunswick (Middlesex County), Rocky Hill, Montgomery, Millstone, Hillsborough, Branchburg (Somerset County), Raritan Township, Readington Township, Flemington, High Bridge, Lebanon Borough, Clinton Town, and Clinton Township (Hunterdon County).
