LD16 Democrats Stand in Solidarity with LGBTQ+ Community Following Bomb Threat at Bayard Rustin Center

Aug 27, 2023

PRINCETON, NJ — Yesterday morning, a bomb threat was called in on Drag Queen Story Hour at the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice in Princeton, New Jersey. Police arrived on the scene, and event organizers relocated the event in the wake of the threat. While law enforcement are continuing to investigate who placed the fake call, the LD16 Democrats released the following statement of solidarity and support:

“Yesterday, a bomb threat was called into a drag queen story hour in Princeton. Fortunately it was not real, and everyone involved is safe and the story hour occurred at a different location. The extreme attacks we are seeing on LBGTQ+ freedoms have real consequences for families and communities. However, the ignorance, fear, and hatred of a few will never triumph over the freedom to love and the acceptance of the many. We, the 16th District Democrats, stand in love and solidarity with our LGBTQ+ community and condemn hatred in all its forms.” said Senator Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Roy Freiman, and Mitchelle Drulis.
